Seaview Property Owners Association
The SeaView Property Owners Association (SPOA), along with our caretaker, watches over our community to uphold its founding values and to preserve the beauty and uniqueness of Seaview.
Protective Covenants & Bylaws - In order to govern our community and maintain our standards for attractive and consistent building style, SeaView has Bylaws and Protective Covenants which outline the basic rules for homeowners. These documents outline the framework for home design, square footage requirements, materials, and additions. The covenants are flexible and allow for a wide variety of building options for the SeaView property owner. SeaView has an active Architectural Review Committee (ARC) that ensures a project is within specifications and published guidelines. A copy of the SeaView Bylaws, Protective Covenants, and the Architectural Review Process can be viewed by clicking the appropriate tab above.
Board of Directors (BOD) -- The BOD is comprised of five (5) SeaView property owners who are elected every two years at the Annual Membership Meeting. Members receive no compensation and work hard to improve SeaView. The Board meets quarterly to conduct official SeaView Business. All members are welcome to attend these meetings.
Committees -- The SeaView membership has been active in committee work in support of the BOD and the community. We currently have an Architectural Review Committee, a Finance Committee, and a Beautification Committee.
Caretaker - SeaView employs a full time Caretaker, Johnny Rippon, who lives in SeaView with his wife Susan in the Caretakers Cottage. Johnny and Susan “take care” of all SeaView maintenance activities in concert with members of the SeaView Board of Directors.
Boat Service - SeaView provides a boat service to Cedar Island aboard the SeaView 2. Please click the 'Boat Service' link for further details.
Cedar Island - Seaview lies approximately 1.5 miles due west of Cedar Island, one of Virginia’s pristine, undeveloped barrier islands. SeaView owners have perpetual rights to forty acres in the middle of Cedar Island. Please click the 'Cedar Island' link for further information about of the few remaining 'wild beaches' on the Atlantic seaboard.
Community Dock - SeaView members have access to the community dock which runs along Folly Creek. Members may tie their boats up there for the night, and enjoy the view and fishing from the dock. Boats can be launched from the nearby Folly Creek Boat Ramp. See the 'Boat Service' link for directions to the boat ramp.
Common Elements & Annual Dues - The community has a number of common areas and services - such as entry gates, spring fed lake & beach, community dock, boat, caretakers cottage, and garage. Our Annual Dues fund the maintenance of these elements to keep them safe, operational, and attractive.
