Seaview
Seaview is a waterfront community on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, near the Metompkin Inlet, separating two of Virginia's barrier islands, Metompkin and Cedar Islands. Between Seaview and the islands are shallow bays, channels, guts, and low lying salt marshes. The islands are some of the last 'wild beaches,' undeveloped and pristine.
Seaview is a private gated community with a full time Caretaker, Johnny Rippon, who lives with his wife, Susan, in the Caretakers Cottage. In addition to overseeing and maintaining Seaview, Johnny also provides a boat service from the community dock to the northern end of Cedar Island. Owners with their own boats use the community dock for access to the islands, fishing, and other boating activities. Some of the lots in Seaview allow for building of private docks, and some share a common dock. Many lots also overlook Folly Creek or freshwater ponds.
Seaview is a short drive from several quaint small towns of the Eastern Shore, with galleries, restaurants, and interesting shops. Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Williamsburg are within a 1-2 hour drive.
